Description

Drynaria quercifolia, commonly known as the Oak Leaf Fern, is a dramatic and highly decorative fern admired for its bold, lobed fronds that resemble oak leaves. It features two types of leaves: upright, leafy fronds that create a striking display, and brown, papery nest fronds that form a protective base around the rhizome. Often grown mounted or in hanging baskets, this fern brings a wild, tropical, and sculptural look to indoor jungles, shaded patios, and fern collections.

Plant size: ±40–90 cm tall (larger when mounted and established)
Light: Bright, indirect light to light shade
Water: Keep evenly moist; allow the top layer to dry slightly between watering
Temperature: Warm, humid, frost-free conditions

A bold and architectural fern — Drynaria quercifolia adds texture, natural drama, and a true rainforest feel to both indoor displays and sheltered outdoor spaces.
